Garcia

Melanie Garcia loves collage. It was during her BFA in Film Production at Concordia University that she began her work in large-format digital collage. After a period of art gestation her work emerged as analog mixed media collage concerned with the human body, its connection to its surroundings and how we exist in the world.

Her work has been exhibited in shows in Canada, the US, as well as the Netherlands, Iceland and Norway.

Her commissioned work has appeared in the Marshall Project, the Guardian, the Walrus, Ciele Athletics, Émigré as well as supporting the artistic visions of musicians, poets and designers.

When not pushing around little pieces of paper Melanie freelances in costuming for film and art education in and around Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal, Canada.
