Vera Gomes’ art and design practice spans many mediums, investigating the physical, digital, and generative. Utilizing images of Earth and space, Gomes creates barren extraterrestrial landscapes. Her collages and assemblages present mesmerizing visions of nature, reimagining our universe without erasing any of its inherent beauty.

I'm a visual-centric practicing between art and design. The starting point tends to be investigatory, usually in the local library's geology section but also often traveling; the main engine is to collect images and then connect. I negotiate between the intentional process and the generative output, in physical and digital material alike. This often results in handmade and digital collage, three dimensional collage and spacial assemblages, analogue photography and photogrammetry landscape.

Vera Gomes was born in 1989 in Lisbon, Portugal. She currently lives and works in Bergen, Norway.
