DR.ME has emerged as a pioneering studio in the world of design, boldly defying norms of visual communication. Seamlessly navigating the intersection between commercial and fine art, this duo crafts a distinctive aesthetic within the collage landscape. With an array of publications in their repertoire and the noteworthy project, "Accidental Collage," they consistently engage in experimental practices, contributing significantly to the discourse within art and design.
It’s everywhere, not just the traditional cut and paste technique but it’s all around us at all time from musicians chopping up and sampling music from all era’s to make a new or to planting a Nasturtium next to a Fatsia Japonica and watching them weave through each other in a flowerbed. It's discovery, always searching, embracing the happy accident, recycling, remixing & crossing borders. It's a way of expressing that is accessible and affordable to everyone no matter their background. Collage is, and will always be, the people's medium.
DR.ME
DR.ME is Ryan Doyle (DR) and Mark Edwards (ME) a duo working in Manchester, UK. Operating in the space between art and design, the studio works predominantly by hand with mixed media for both personal and commercial projects. The self initiated project ‘365 Days of Collage’ saw them create a collage a day for a year, from this the studio gained a reputation for working within the medium of collage which led them to publish a book (Cut That Out) on the topic with Thames & Hudson (Europe) and Monacelli Press (USA). Their collages can be seen in recent projects for The Tate, Manchester United and Polaroid or in their monograph ‘Not Dead or Famous Enough Yet’ released on the studios publishing arm ‘Waiting Room press’ as well as exhibitions in London, Viborg, Barcelona, Dublin, Berlin and New York.
