Kate Cuthbert's artistic journey began with interior and furniture design, but it was the pursuit of analog collage that ultimately captured her attention. Working under the pseudonym Satin&Tat, Cuthbert's creative process involves the transformation of existing imagery into compositions that explore the dynamics of form, color, and fashion. Cuthbert also serves as the curator of Collage Expo, where she consistently presents a diverse range of emerging artists, each with their own unique style of collage making.
To me, collage is life! I love the opportunity it presents to create something new and different from the original images. A new lens to view them. I enjoy taking elements out of context and creating a completely different image. I find the whole process of collage to be very cathartic, a chance to zone out and focus on the task at hand, especially while cutting.
