Zig (Lobster Tail), 2020

Truett Dietz specializes in geometric abstract collages characterized by their hard-edged compositions. These intricate works incorporate fragments of illustrations, vintage photographs, and typography, which are meticulously deconstructed and juxtaposed in  sophisticated patterns. Employing a dynamic interplay of angles and lines, Dietz skillfully guides the viewer's focus along the contours of each piece, drawing attention to the intricate relationships between individual components.

Hotel Negresco Postcard, 2020

[Collage is] a way of reinterpreting the world's existing visual language into something new and unique to the artist.

Sinking Feeling, 2017

I have made collages for as long as I can remember. There’s something magical about the process of removing images from their original context and repurposing them for your own use. Many times, the process dictates what direction the piece will take. It is a medium of action and reaction where happy accidents and unexpected surprises are commonplace. When cutting into books and magazines, often these accidents lead to decisions no artist would intentionally make. There is a freedom to collage that cannot be found in drawing or painting which I find incredibly refreshing.
