Lesley Finn has created a unique visual language that spotlights and celebrates forgotten moments. Finn skillfully arranges her fragmented imagery to convey layered narratives. Utilizing found archival images in nuanced combinations, she brings history to life with a museum-like sophistication.
Lesley Finn is a writer and artist fascinated by books and other communication technologies, our tactile and embodied encounters with them, and what happens when we take them apart. For her, collage is an act of subversive reading and editing that reveals the essential instabilities of text, image, and narrative. She primarily uses found source materials and analog techniques to create delicate and playfully disruptive compositions steeped in subconscious associations.
