I'm a photographic artist who uses traditional camera techniques to explore the perception of high-altitude light and color and their role in the construction of landscapes. Inspired by the Light and Space movement's emphasis on light as a medium and a subject, I place the sky in unconventional contexts to challenge viewers' perception of color and three-dimensional space. My photographs’ formal aesthetic qualities are strongly influenced by the broad history of modern painting, especially that of minimalism, color field and hard-edge abstraction.
